Kathryn Whitten
Mrs. Kathryn P. Whitten passed away after a short illness on January 8, 2010. Mrs. Whitten had served as a Regional Supervisor of Home Economics Careers and Technology (HECT) and FHA-HERO Advisor for Regions 5, 6, 8, and 9. She will be remembered for her work with schools in her assigned regions and statewide responsibilities in professional and curriculum development for Home Economics Careers and Technology as well as with FHA-HERO. During her 57 year career in education, she served as a HECT teacher, FHA-HERO Chapter and Region Advisor, and State Department of Education HECT consultant.
A scholarship has been established in her honor for the professional development of current and future teachers and FHA-HERO advisors.
