Dream Dare Do Award Winners


 
Kit Little, Village High School, from Region 5 was to be able to support a Consumer and Family Studies and Home Economics Related Occupation program on her small campus.  She dared to create a semi-commercial kitchen, with the flexibility to allow for the teaching of all areas of Consumer and Family Studies.  She has a Food Service and Hospitality pathway with the ability to do a catering business as the capstone course.

Catherine Davis, El Camino Real High School from Region 9 had a dream is to create a better school community as the coordinator of her campus’ Art & Design Academy which includes the following departments – Art, Interior Design, Fashion and Graphic Design.  She has dared to design a state of the art apparel construction classroom which will help her prepare her students for careers in the field of fashion.  With this endeavor she has managed to do what we all strive to do – create an environment that not only allows her students to learn, but keeps them coming back for more.  Catherine has made such an impact on her students that they are literally lined up to greet her every morning.

Linda Morris, Sultana High School, in Region 10 had a dream to create a strong HECT program as she leads her department forward in an ever changing school culture. She dares to encourage and assist her students in preparing for culinary competitions.  She has the ability to do and get things done in her HECT Department.  Linda is a leader at her school who revels in the accomplishments of her students, many of whom have been placed at fine dining restaurants after completing their culinary training.
