2007 HETAC OUTSTANDING TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Penny Niadna, Golden West High School (Region 8)

This year's recipient has been the advisor to both region and state FHA-HERO officers, and has partipated in many region, state and national meetings. In addition to being a very active FHA-HERO Advisor, she has promoted our profession by presenting countless workshops and curriculum roundtables.
She has worked very hard to align all of her courses with the newly adoptedstate standards, She also helped draft the standards for the comprehensive core and has worked to help create a career pathway in child developmentand education for the HECT department of her school.
This year's recipient is a positive role model for her students, student teachers and other faculty members. Her professionalism and positive attitudehas influenced many. She is always willing to spend extratime to help students complete their projects and to give advice when asked.
